A RARE FIND for STEREOSCOPE COLLECTORSThis is a rack from the late 1800s made specifically to hold up to 200 stereoscopic cards / slides. It is portable and small enough to fit into a cabinet -- making it a useful and accessible appliance for a family fond of seeing pictures in early 3D. The style is late Victorian -- Eastlake or Edwardian -- at a time when furniture fashion began moving toward more simple embellishments and cleaner lines that would eventually become the distinctive, angular art deco movement. The pictures show this holder from all angles -- both with and without stereocards. (PLEASE NOTE: The cards are shown for illustration only and are not being sold with the rack.) This item is made of wood and put together with nails. It has not been damaged. There is some warping and wear on each side where the decorative feature was inlaid. Specs: It holds cards up to 7 1/2 wide. 6 shelves (3 on each side) Carry handle 12 inches high 8 inches deep 8 1/4 inches wide in front and back. Questions? Please feel free to message the seller. We try to answer inquiries within a day. (Dealer stock #3585)
