Edvin Öhrström (1906 – 1994) was an Orrefors glass designer and glass blower from 1932 through 1957. He worked his own furnace most the year, where he developed the Ariel Technique with Gustaf Bergkvist and artist Vicke Lindstrand, though throughout the entire time he worked about two months per year at Orrefors. round with smooth, slightly swirling indentations around the circumference. These indentations divide the walls of the vase up into segments, reminiscent of a peeled orange, making for an eye catching piece

This piece dates from 1942, beginning with the numbers 244 (2444-511) this piece was produced in the early years of the American involvement in World War II.

Each piece in this series is hand made, you\'ll see several with open blooms, some more rounded, and some almost flat. This piece is nearly round, appears slightly taller than wide but is not, an excellent form for the Ariel technique.

Measures 4 1/2 inches tall abd 5 inches wide, on a foot of 3 1.2 inches. Weighs 4.8 pounds.

Piece is in excellent condition - meaning there are minor scratches to the base from shelf movement, no visible scratches to the upper surfaces. The work is an excellent piece of mid-war art glass, and shows incredibly well.
