Edwardian sterling silver place card holders. Made by James William Benson in Birmingham in 1909. Each: heraldic shield set in oval frame and mounted to hexagonal base. A sleek and modern version of an old fashioned motif. Hallmark includes retailer s mark Rowell Oxford. Excellent condition with good weight.

Dimensions: H 1 x W 1 x D 1 in. Total weight: 2.8 troy ounces.

In case bound in red leather with fitted velvet bordered by braid. Cover interior silk lined and gilt stamped R. S. Rowell. Dimensions: H 1 7/8 x W 7 x D 2 in. BI545
