The Hachette company issued a series of110 Egyptian god figures that were available in the UK, Australia,and other countries, but are relatively hard to find in the US. Whenyou do buy single figures from the UK, the postage adds considerablyto their price. Now they are becoming collectable. I have acollection of 52 first quality figures that I am selling, as I wasable to buy a separate complete set, so I am selling my doubles.

The figures are up to 5 inches tall andhand painted. The detail is quite good, and the historical andarchaeological accuracy impressive.

This figure is Anukis (aka Anket). She is a goddess of the cataracts of the Nile in the Aswan region. She wears a crown of ostrich plumes.

Note: This is one of the originalissue Hachette figures, with high quality painting. The ones forsale currently on Amazon are a \"second printing,\" and seemto use the same molds, but the painting is not nearly as good. (Ihave around 50 of those figures for sale also in separate listings,at a much lower price.) These originals all came to me from Canada,UK, or France, and the price reflects their scarcity and the shippingI paid to get them. You will note ones for sale on with evenhigher prices. I was happy to have a mixed set until I was able tobuy a complete \"original\" set. And it is important to notethat there is some variation in quality even among the originalissue. In my complete set, collected by one person in the UK bysubscription, there is some difference in the painting (differentfactories? different artists? decline over time?). But they are stillmostly superior to the ones currently for sale from the \"secondprinting.\"
