Description: This sale is for the Elaborate Victorian Era English Sewing Case / Etui w/ Sterling Silver Tools pictured above.The underside of the case is marked \"J.L. Hausburg Goldsmith & Jeweller Old Post Office Building Liverpool. The case is veneered in Tortoise shell and there are some missing and loose pieces. The tools look to be sterling although they are not marked that I can see. The scissors have a decorated sheath and are marked Hobson & Son. There is a decorated needle case. The mechanical pencil is marked Mordan. I believe the shorter cylinder is a wax sealer for envelopes. Some of these pieces have stone tops. There is a fine awl or pricker. There is what looks to me to be a pencil holder. There is a small decorated folding knife. The thimble is marked sterling and an S inside a shield. Most of the pieces have the same decoration and are fitted to the case. There is one empty spot in the case. This sewing tool set will be a nice addition to any number of sewing or lady related collections. Please look at all the pics to see the details and condition.
