This handsome Elgin American cigarette case lighter in gold toned pinstripes is sleek and elegant.The gold finish on the front is near mint, with no signs of wear or damage; it polishes to a very high luster. The back of the lighter is in good shape, but the finish is worn is a couple of spots. The body of the lighter is free of any dents or dings. The inside of the case is almost a pretty as the outside! The cigarette retaining arm inside is still held firmly in place by a spring that shows no signs of weakening. The lighter mechanism is an automatic type, and it is ignited by simply snapping the case shut. The flint tube is clear, and with a flint the lighter produces a nice spark.
