Description:

Offered for sale is this GENUINE ANTIQUE Eliza Boyd (born in 1785 & died in her original rectangular ebonized frame with fine gilt brass/bronze oval accent trim. This frame still has its original brass floralmount ring & theframe measures approx 5" x 4-1/8". On the back of this silhouette it is hand written originally in pencil (someone highlighted over the pencil with ink at a later date) with "AUNT ELIZA BOYD DIED 1881 AGE 96 LORD ? NELSON".The artist hada wonderful talent of achieving brush-like strokes in her hair etc.to show fabulous fine detail. The frameworkis all original & we did nottry to remove this silhouette from its frame, so it may need some professional cleaning.This silhouetteis in fantastic condition withno touch ups anywhere, & has slight discoloration on the brown paper to the lower right. There may be tiny nicks & scuffs on the frame but nothing that would alter the value of this desired collectible.
