Offered is this GENUINE ANTIQUE Eliza Boyd (born in 1785 & died in 1881) Silhouette Profile in her original rectangular ebonized frame with fine gilt brass/bronze oval accent trim. This frame still has its original brass floral mount ring & the frame measures approx 5\" x 4-1/8\". On the back of this silhouette it is hand written originally in pencil (someone highlighted over the pencil with ink at a later date) with \"AUNT ELIZA BOYD DIED 1881 AGE 96 LORD ? NELSON\". The artist had a wonderful talent of achieving brush-like strokes in her hair etc. to show fabulous fine detail. The framework is all original & we did not try to remove this silhouette from its frame, so it may need some professional cleaning. This silhouette is in fantastic condition with no touch ups anywhere, & has slight discoloration on the brown paper to the lower right. There may be tiny nicks & scuffs on the frame but nothing that would alter the value of this desired collectible.
