This is an original antique, professionally matted, children’s chromolithograph (color lithograph), illustrated by Ellen Welby, and while undated, was reportedly published in 1894 in a beautiful cloth covered portfolio of her most endearing children\'s images. The portfolio, CHILDREN FROM THE POETS, is a series of 12 highly artistic lithographs representing children of the poets, each after an original painting by Ellen Welby. The portfolio was published in London, Paris and New York by Raphael Tuck and Sons, a very well documented and esteemed publisher of fine children\'s books of the period. The prints in this series are blank on the reverse, printed on a semi-hard matte paper, and matted in an off-white acid free matte. They are also backed by a black acid free back-board which is not attached to the print, but which should be kept with the print when framed. The prints in this series are absolutely stunning and exceptional. You won\'t be disappointed and that is a promise.

Nice clean, sharp lines. It\'s just a wonderful print.This print is over 120 years old and guaranteed to be original. It’s an authentic old chromolithograph from the aforementioned portfolio, and NOT A REPRODUCTION.The print is about 10\" x 14 1/2\" (including the white space around the lovely child, but not the edge under the matte). Matted the print measures 14\" x 18\". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frame—no costly custom frames required.ALL OF OUR MATTED PRINTS ARE WRAPPED IN A CLEAR CELLOPHANE ENVELOPE THAT PROTECTS THE PRINT DURING SHIPPING AND IS PERFECT FOR GIFT GIVING.
