This is a classic Empire antique style gold leaf style picture frame with an orate design, which would enhance an original piece of art, or even a mirror. This was manufactured in the 1900s in the Boston Area.
The interior size would hold a 16\" x 20\" piece of art, however the perimeter measures 24\" x 28\" and is 2 3/4\" thick.
The frame is at least 30 years old and is in used condition with a few minor blemishes / marks which I think add character to the frame.
