A very old and unusual deep dish or saucer decorated in a Japanese Imari style with scrolling flowers around the edge and an Ikebana flower arrangement in the centre. The colours are oranges and gold over a transfer print of dark blue with an orange/red rim which is rather rubbed. I believe that it is English, (although I have no idea of the maker ), and that it probably dates from the \'Japonisme\' era in England which started around the 1860\'s when all things Japanese were the fashion! The glaze is very rubbed but the dish itself is in good condition with no chips but there is one short hairline from the rim and a little staining. It measures approx. 17cm across by 3cm high. This is an interesting and early piece which for all it\'s age still displays well. Any white areas on the pictures are camera flash.
