English Chairs with Mother of Pearl Pair of Ladies & Gentleman\'s Circa 1905 :
$285.00

The carving and inlay of this period are spectacular! This pair of circa 1905 chairs are wonderful example. We have an English ladies sitting chair and matching gentleman\'s arm chair with matching mother of pearl back splats. Both chairs are upholstered in a loose velvet cranberry material with trim. It doesn\'t appear to be the original upholstery as the linen material on the bottom has another set of tack holes. The original springs, horse hair paddingand wood casters are in tact.
The chairs share matching floral marquetry and mother-of-pearl and wood inlaid back splats between basketweave fretwork. The last photo details the ladies chair. The gentleman\'s open armchair\'s mahogany wood is a bit darker than that of the ladies. There is an old repair to one of the arms re-gluing the front of the arm to the chair. Both chairs are age appropriately worn; the surface scratches covered up well with Old English. I\'ll be happy to send more photos.

The ladies chair is 35 1/4\" tall, 18\" wide, 19\" deep. It\'s 16 1/4\" from the seat to the floor.
The gentleman\'s chair is 37\" tall, 25\" wide, 24\" deep. It\'s 16\" from the seat to the floor.
Local pickup only due to size and fragile nature of chairs. All of our vintage and antique products can be picked up at our Shabadashery Shoppe near Historic Troy, NY, home and resting place of Uncle Sam and the starting point of the Industrial Revolution! We’d love to meet you!
