We are pleased to offer this English sterling silver George III wine goblet.
From the Bateman family.
The most important London silver familiy of all time.
Beginning with Hester, several generations of Bateman silversmiths. In this case, from Peter and Anne Bateman. First listed in 1791.
Classic form.
Elegant wide band support to top of stem. The stem finished with thin panel edge.
Set atop thick well cast squared pedestal base. Giving the wine goblet additional presence.
Never monogrammed
Hallmarked as shown.
Bateman wine goblet is 6 5/8 inches tall and weighs 7 3/4 (standard) ounces.
Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. Hint of original gold wash.
