We are pleased to offer this museum worthy Victorian sterling silver Armada punch bowl.

Selling 40 years of 18th & 19th British silver.

Military presentation.

Most sought after of all Victorian designs.

Striking mermaid and merman figures, leopard head, masks and endless shell and floral displays.

Sibray and Hall, London 1895.

Classic raised circular form. Elegant petal fluted scalloped and pierced vine rim.

The centre medallion with engraved cypher. Flanked by brilliant full body mermaid and merman. Make special note of the satin chased scaly tail fins, partly hidden by floral sprays. Neptune god of the sea head below, with shell crown.

The Armada punch bowl is 11 1/2 inches diameter weighs 54 1/2 (standard) ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The raised mermaid and merman, leopard and mask, and lush floral sprays retain their original hand chased detail.
