ENGLISH STERLING COFFEE POT; OWNED BY ROLAND HUNT, HIGH SHERIFF, 1829; EDWARD FARRELL; WEIGHS 42 OUNCES; EXCELLENT

We are pleased to offer this important George IV sterling coffee pot.

From Edward Farrell in 1829. Renown for his Tenniers, Dutch tavern scenes.

This piece quite different. Depicting knight with fallen comrade and king\'s guard.

Owned by Roland Hunt (1784-1861), Boreatton, High Sherrif of Salop. Hunt family coat of arms and his initials \"RH 1829 AD\" the date of production.

As noted king\'s guard with sword raised over cowering villager, lady on horse and more.

Opposite a knight leads fallen comrade draped over mule. Tavern with crescent moon banner, thatch roof cottages.

Seated tavern patron finial.

Bold eagle head spout, rising from pointed ear, fiendishly grinning Satan below.

Finished with shell crown lion mask and paw feet.

Hallmarked as shown.

This Sheriff Roland Hunt coffee pot is 10 inches and weighs 43 1/2 standard ounces.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Interior clean as if little used. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. Cover close flush. The knight returning with fallen comrade, King\'s guard, satin mask and so on retain their original detail. Possibly later handle secure and with rich even surface.
