This rare English sterling silver Cellini ewer.
One of the most richly decorated Victorian forms.
Charles Boyton II in 1898.
Slender urn with bead framed raised masks flanked by feeding pheasant,
goat and deer, with floral sprays and panel.
Alternating Bacchus and crowned maiden masks above.
Classical bust atop garden pedestal below.
Court jester mount spout opposite side under the
handle raised theatre mask.
Leafy branch cover with original pomegranate finial.
Boldly cast caryatid (maiden body) handle.
The two step foot with continuation of the
raised masks set within leafy branch.
This rare 1898 Cellini ewer is 12 1/4 inches tall
and it weighs 38 1/2 (standard) ounces.
Hallmarked as shown.
In excellent condition.
Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout.
Retains original detail.
Original gilt under cover.
