We are pleased to offer this monumental English George II sterling salver.

From the highly regarded salver specialist maker Robert Abercromby in 1739.

First listed in 1731. Examples in museum and major collections.

David Bexfield, London has 8 oz. 1745 salver for 1895 GBP.

Wax Antiques, London offers a 1737 salver for 2950GBP or $4500. That example half the size now offered.

In raised circular form with Chippendale type rim. With the addition of twin vine and leaf scrolls.

Center crest.

Shell and foliate framed oval, tied bushel wheat supporting greyhound and bird, with structure above.

Shell and floral medallion work.

Leaf cap lion paw and claw feet, with satin like \"hairy\" surface.

This monumental 1739 English salver is 18 1/2 across and 103 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown. Also stamped with original scratch weight 95\"13.

In very fine condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The armorial shell and floral and lion feet retain near original detail. Small nicked area top rim, see images and wave to center surface after 250 years of settling in cast rim.
