ENGLISH STERLING SILVER TEAPOT & STAND; FAMILY CREST; ALEXANDER FIELD, 1794

We are pleased to offer this George III sterling oval teapot on matching stand.

From the rarely seen Alexander Field in 1794. First listed with John De Grundy in 1789. In 1780 alone.

His work is rarely found.

The set in oval form.

Center with period engraved collared bale of hay within ribbon and drapery framed shield.

Bright cut border detail including leaf and snow flake.

Original fruit wood (?) saucer and sterling cap finial and handle.

The oval stand with conforming family crest and bright cut engraving.

This rare English 1794 teapot is 12 inches handle to spout and 7 1/2 tall teapot on stand. Set weighs 20 1/2 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

In fine condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Handle secure and with rich mellow surface, tiny chip at leaf end, assorted scuffs and wear small splits sides of hinge.
