ENGLISH STERLING TANKARD DRAGON HANDLE SPECIAL ORDER

We are quite pleased to offer this special order Victorian dragon handle tankard.

This tankard is one of only a handful that were ever crafted by Robert Hennell in 1875.

Classic tapering form.

Well cast and fit domed cover.

The finial and handle formed as a single brilliantly cast Chinese dragon. The dragon head with bulging eyes sweeping horns and coiled end tendril.

Handle formed as the middle section of the dragon\'s body, with hundreds of diamond cut scales as the surface.

Both top and bottom sets of claws spread wide clutching the side walls.

The tail continues forming the entire base rim as show

The tankard retains the original gold wash interior.

Hallmarked shoulder and cover.

Tankard is 9 inches handle to tail and 8 3/4 tall and weighs 38 1/2 standard ounces.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. The beautifully cast and then hand chased dragon handle and cover retain their original detail. Original interior gold wash in fine state. Mild exterior wear.
