Romain de Tirtoff (11/12/1892 - 4/21/1990) was a Russian-born French designer and artist known by the pseudonym ERTÉ from the Frenchpronunciationof his initials.ERTÉ was a very talented 20th-century artist and designer that flourished in a variety of the fields that include fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, suit design, and set design for film, theater and opera, and interior decor.
