Estate Period Patchwork Quilt Scrap Piece for Study Handpieced Ribbon Work 70x8:

This would make a nice study piece. I’m dating this patchwork scrap in part by an actual dated piece of 1900; by condition and by my limited knowledge of period textile. The dated piece of ribbon appears to be a ribbon that had been won by a firehouse perhaps. This whole piece seems to be made up mostly of period ribbon scraps. There is tearing in some of the ribbon patches. See pictures for a close-up view of the damage.

There is soiling throughout and I have not attempted to launder. It needs great care and preserving. Good enough to frame but it would be a long frame as it measures 70” x 8” approximately.
