For sale is a vintage ROYAL DOULTON collector series-ware dinner plate. This plate is titled \"Roger Solem El. Cobler\". It was one of the original pieces in the Old English Country Scenes series line. This plate is made of glazed ceramic ironstone. It features a high gloss ivory white glaze with a transfer print design of a village cobbler working on a repair as other villagers look on. A dog stares down a frightened cat near the bottom of the scene. The design is hand tinted underglaze in green, red, yellow, blue, and maroon. The rim and verge are trimmed in dark green. This plate is marked with the Royal Doulton England backstamp with the lion over the crown. There is also the model number \"D.6302\" and an artist\'s mark \"B\". This model number was used for this pattern circa 1949.This plate is approximately 10-1/2 inches in diameter across the top rim. This vintage plate is in excellent, near mint, used condition. The glaze is bright and shiny. There are very little, very light use marks to the glaze. The three sagger pin marks on the bottom of the plate are visible and are the result of the manufacturing process. They are not nicks or chips. Please see photographs.
