This sale is for this very old and very rare Evatt straight razor. This razor is likely made in Sheffield between 1800-1805.Basic internet research reveals that Evatt quit making razors in 1805 and the Cast Steel stamp wasn\'t being used until 1800.That makes this razor 212-217 years old -- amazing!!! The US was barely a country when this was made.It\'s nice to be able to put such a precise date to this razor, other makers are difficult and sometimes impossible to narrow their manufacturing dates to such a small window.It has a wedge grind and a nice smile to the blade. I don\'t believe there were hollow ground razors being made at this point in razor history. Rust and scratches are visible.Widest part of blade is approximately 6/8\" inches. See pictures.Natural scales have a metal inlay and seem original. The pins and washers seem original.Please view pictures as they\'re a part of the description.Highly recommend professional restoration for a razor this unique. This one is being sold as is with no option for return. I cannot see under the rust, so I cannot be certain about the extent of the damage -- appears to be in a very restorable condition.
