Exceptional Hand Painted Meiji Period c.1890 Japanese Fukagawa Koi Fish Vase w/Original Tomobako

Brand/Provenance: Fukagawa, Japan.

Age: Meiji Period (1868 - 1912).

Size: The piece measures 7.5cm at widest point, and 21.5cm high

Artist/signature: The piece is signed with the fukagawa factory mark to the base.

Condition: The vase is in Perfect \'MINT\' condition with absolutely NO chips, cracks, wear or restoration. Decoration is A+ and has been very well looked after. There are a couple of patches where the glaze has not run during the manufacturing process. Please see photos for more details.

Comments: An exceptional and rare Japanese Fukagawa vase from the Meiji Period. This example depicts traditional Japanese Koi fish swimming amongstaquatic plant life. The piece is decorated with the most beautiful decorating figures which are finely executed with extreme precision and skill. The attention to detail throughout the entire decoration is just superb. The piece is alsoaccompanied by its original box from the manufacturer, the Tomobako. The Tomobako features the Fukagawa companies mark to the lid of the box, as shown in the images.
