Offered is a fabulous and extremely rare high quality gold plated brass Dunhill MK11 Rollboy model pocket lighter.

Most collectors will be more familiar with the Bach & Cooper designed MK1 Rollboy lighter, sold c. 1947-52.

Dunhill stopped dealing with Bach & Cooper, likely as they were retailing the Rollboy through their own out lets, not just Dunhill\'s.

Seeking a replacement model Dunhill approached Wise and Greenwood, designers of the original lift arm lighter to redesign (and patent) the Rollboy model.

This is the model they designed, its rare and not often seen, clearly outsold by the Rollalite model it could not have been on the market for very long.

This example is an early one as it does not yet have a patent.

Note this example also differs from the piece in the Dunhill book as it has a small lip on edge of the lid.

The MK11 Rollboy models are produced to a very high standard, its hard to tell if this is plated or solid gold example , they are that good.

This model is in excellent overall condition with a small ding on one bottom edge corner.

The Royal Mail will no longer ship lighters, they find them, throw them away and then send you a letter threatening prosecution if they catch you trying to send any more, so please don\'t ask me to send any lighters via the Royal Mail as I don\'t and wont.

I use a specialist courier, its a expensive service and I subsidise shipping costs myself.

Note I do not under any circumstances ship to Russian Federation.
