This is an absolutely stunning piece of antique embroidery work. The workmanship is unmatched in my experience. There is definite deterioration to the sage green silk background but I couldn\'t help think this lovely piece could be appreciated by someone. Perhaps framed? The design is of an Oriental Crane. It is in a pond and surrounded by various flora. There is a lovely oriental butterfly at its feet an a large lotus just behind its head. There is a large amount of gold thread used here an the design itself is rathermonochromatic.
The bird is surrounded in a floral oval pattern. Again, the needlework here is just unmatched in its expertise. The tiny intricate stitches here are just amazing to see.
