Exquisite Austrian 1930 Silver Pill Snuff Box with Miniature Ivorine Painting:

This is an exquisite antique, Continental/Austrian, 925 silver & gilt shaped, oblong and oval snuff/pill box. The hinged cover is set with a stunning glass miniature, hand painted, ivorine painting. A countryside scene, with trees, foliage and curved river embankment. It depicts a squire or gamekeeper with rifle and hunting dog, pointing directions to a young couple of travellers who\'ve stopped, while their horse drinks water from the river !!!!
A stunning piece of silver workmanship with engraved C-scrolls, diapers and scrolling foliage, fully hallmarked with a silver gilt interior. This superb silver gilt and ivorinepanelledsnuff/pill box is fully hallmarked with a 925 silver stamp and sponsors stamp for B.C.T Company, Limited .... who specialised in importing fine decorative silver items in the 1920s/1930s such as card cases, cigarette cases, snuff/pill boxes. It also has the import mark for the London assay office with the date letter a gothic \'P\' for 1930.

Considering thishand painted silver gilt ivorine snuff/pill box is 84 yearsold it\'s in fantasticcondition, with no splits dents or repairs, and the ivorine panel is in superb complete original condition.It does have some age related patination wear, commensuratewith its 84 years of age, but nothing unusual.
