Exquisite Rare French Art Nouveau Chandelier circa 1920
This magnificent chandelier comes from France and was made in the 1920s. With a dark iron frame, bedecked with iron roses and foliage, this gorgeous light has a central shade and 3 tulips. The central shade is a woven metal basket which is covered in delicate glass flower heads, each of which has a pearlescent bead at it\'s centre. The middle of the central shade is also decorated with large glass beads in a bunch of grape design which meet towards the bottom of the shade. The three tulips are equally fashioned in a metal basket design and are covered with individual glass beads, again in the style of bunches of grapes.
The chandelier is in great condition given it\'s age and has had a little up dating over the years. The screws which hold the three shades in place have been replaced and the metal weave used for the baskets has been updated. There is some minor damage to one of the glass beads on one of the tulips and an iron leaf on one of the vertical arms is absent. None of which is evident when the light is suspended and does not detract from it\'s overall beauty. This is a truly stunning and most unusual light and it would be difficult to find anything that remotely matches it in terms of beauty and rarity.
The chandelier measures 73cm high by 50cm wide and requires four standard screw fit light bulbs. As with all vintage lighting, the chandelier should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
