I bought this beautiful basket in Zorzor in Liberia, West Africa in 1982. I used it for storage of light weight items and as an interior decoration accent. The handle straps are still strong and well attached to the body of the basket.
Kpelle women are known for their basketweaving and this basket is an outstanding example of their skill and artistry.
Dimensions: 24-26\" diameter at the widest spot, 82\" circumference, approx. 9\" tall, diameter of the bottom 7\". The handle straps are approx. 36\" long, the drop is 13\". and weighs 6 lbs (without any packing materials, the carton large enough to ship the basket weighs more then the basket - approx. 7 lbs)
