A longtime ago we were overwhelmed by the sight of this precious, dramatic puppetwith his eye-riveting mystique. How does one explain the sensory miracle oflooking upon one of the creative wonders that evoke such a message from Godof creativity supreme granted to a human being? His carved wooden head withmoveable jaw and empty hollows where eyes once looked out a long, long timeago. From an elegant face epitomizing the character of a genuine man, he is apersonage requiring but the garb of humility. He knows who he is and from whencehe came — the hand of the Almighty. Broad hand stitches have kept hisclothes in place and he is willing to move on the puppet stage by anyone’shands for he knows well the hands that truly guide him. It has been difficultto photograph him — the colors lit up as in a sunset. His clothes are actually a morerudimentary brown, but no matter; he is a creature of any place and of any time.The mystique of such an old piece of endless art is inexplicable but we fellin love with him in joyful abandon and no cares.

CONDITION:There is an unimpressive little crack down the middle of his handsome face. His eyes arevacant; perhaps they are down inside his head — the better to see from hisheart. He was not hung properly for the photos although someone tried to standhim on a contemporary stand that looks as though he is being strangled (we apologize). His clothes are rumpled (not unlike Lt. Columbo\'s coat) but nothing could ever put out thelights of this extraordinary guy.
