An Extremely Rare/Fine Korean Blue/White Decorated with a Carp Shallow Dish-19th C.:
Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century.
The large and shallow dish is in painted fullyunderglaze cobalt blue interior and exterior:
the interior painted with a central medallion of a large carpjumping
in a river with mountains behind (Han River),surrounded by a band of peony and
chrysanthemums, the exterior decorated with (symbolsof seven treasures) floral sprays and clouds and others under
a band of continueswaves beneath a creamy blue tinged white glaze.
It’s invery fine condition with no any chips or repairs but has a several hairlinecracks on the body, it measures 20cm d. x 3.6cm h.
