This is a wonderful find. It is rare sterling tea caddy spoon in the ornate \"Louis XV\" pattern, which was patented by Durgin in 1891. The bowl of the spoon is shaped like a deep tea leaf. The spoon measures 4-13/16\" long and weighs .55 troy ounces. The spoon is in excellent estate condition, and the bowl retains a hint of its original gold wash. The front of the handle is engraved, \"Helen\", and the reverse is engraved, \"Xmas \'92\" (1892). The reverse of the handle is marked with Durgin\'s \"D\" and \"Sterling\". Any black marks are merely reflections. It is a great piece! Please see my other sales and store for more antique silver.
