FABULOUS ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENGLISH 18K GOLD DIAMOND DOUBLE SNAKE RING c1897:

A wonderful antique Victorian English, solid 18 carat gold (fully hallmarked) ring; beautifully modelled as two coiled snakes. It has a ribbed, wide band, heavy solid head and each snake head is set with a sparkling white 5-point diamond. One is the original old mine-cut diamond, the other is an extremely high quality brilliant-cut replacement (only an experienced jeweller can tell). As each snake was actuallyan independent piece when it wasbeing made, both are hallmarked, though they are now one piece.It\'s hallmarked London 1897 and is invery good, fully wearablecondition with light detail wear to the snakes\' heads. It weighs6.1grams, measures10 mm across the head and its ring size is 8 ¼ US / Q ¼ UK - not easily resized. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
