FABULOUS FRENCH WALNUT BURL ARMOIRE WITH GILT ORMOLU, LOUIS XIII, XIV, XV, XVI :

I have a fabulous French walnut burl wood armoire with gilded ormolu detailing on the doors and the corners. There is a crown of gilt on the top as well as gilt metal detailing on the corners, doors and keyholes. It is very old and is just stunning! I am not sure if it is Louis XIII, XIV, XIV, XV, or XVI so please review the photos carefully. It is walnut inlaid with walnut burl wood. It measures 66\" wide x 18\" deep x 92\" tall. I paid $10,000 for the armoire about 25 years ago and it is priced very low. The original keys are included.

The interior measurements are as follows:

Left cabinet - 11\" wide x 15.5\" deep x 77\" tall
Middle cabinet - 33.5\" wide x 13.5\" deep x 77\" tall
Right cabinet - 11\" wide x 15.5\" deep x 77\" tall

The armoire has three sections, each with hinged doors, and it stands on 4 feet in the front and two feet in the back. The center door has a large beveled mirror. The armoire is a \"knock-down\" style which is designed be taken apart to transport flat. The sides, doors, top and back all interconnect and are very stable when assembled.

I added 4 mahogany shelves to the interior of the large center section as I was unable to obtain walnut at the time. The two side cabinets have wood tracks on both sides so you can add shelves if you desire and they appear to be original to the armoire. There is also a hanging rod at the top of each side cabinet that is not original. There is a small crack on the top of one of the doors to the walnut veneer (not the door) that is easily repairable. In addition, there is slight damage to one side at the bottom where the walnut veneer is chipped in several small places but this could be easily filled. The armoire is very old with some wear and some scrapes. However, it is in good condition for an antique and there will be more distressing and wear to the finish than a new one.

I offer free local pick up and I am happy to work with your shipping company of choice. I recommend Plycon Transportation Group who will come to my studio, wrap the armoire securely, and ship it to you. I am happy to dispose of the 4 mahogany shelves and the 2 hanging rods if you do not want them to be shipped with the armoire. Please let me know if you would like the armoire disassembled for shipping or would rather have it delivered assembled.
