A fabulous quality 3-piece, solid silver Arts & Crafts tea set made by A E Jones. It comprises a teapot, sugar bowl and creamer, each with a frieze of small roundels and a planished body and sitting on three ball feet. The teapot has a wooden handle and finial, whilst the jug sports a silver handle.AE Jones is recognised as one of the important 20th century designers of silver and was influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement. He is highly collectable, and this is a very nice example of his craftsmanship.I\'m also selling another beautiful teaset in a different listing, this time from India . Date, Assay Office or Country: Birmingham. The teapot was assayed in 1924, the sugar bowl in 1925 and the creamer in 1927. Monogram/Crest: None. Dimensions & Weight: The teapot stands about 13 cm high, the sugar bowl 6 cm and the milk jug 5.8 cm. Together, they weigh 559 gms, nearly 18 Troy ounces. Silver Fineness: Sterling. Condition: Very fine. Some movement in the handle and one minor ding to the jug, otherwise no other imperfections. As a guide, I use ‘Fine’ to categorize an item whose wear is commensurate with age and perhaps has minor dings; ‘Very Fine’ when condition is better than might be expected for its age. Condition is subjective, so please see my pictures and use your own judgement!
