This is a lovely very large vintage French unbleached linen metis sheet that has been beautifully decorated all by hand and has never been used.

I\'ll start with the top hem which is a deep ladder or drawn work hem, 7 cms, it\'s all been sewn by hand, this then runs the full width of the sheet.

Just above this sits another decorative row of drawn work (deep ladder work) again all sewn by hand, this sits just below the decorative embroidery. The center of the sheet is then decorated 3 flower heads and leaves with dots trailing from each outer stem to either side, below this is another flower again these have all been embroidered bu hand using fine silk threads. It really is a very pretty sheet.

The fabric has a lovely feel and good weight to it and is in fabulous condition having never been used.
The fabric which is a soft ecru in colour, it\'s a linen metis and has a lovely feel to it, linen metis is the most wonderful fabric to sleep under keeping you snug in winter yet beautifully cool in summer with it\'s linen and cotton mixture, one being the weft and the other the warp.

As with all new linens I would suggest that you leave it to soak for 24 hours if possible to remove as much of the size within the fabric and then launder as normal, with each laundry the sheet will whiten and eventually turn a brilliant white.
