This is a wonderful very early fashion sixth plate Daguerreotype of a very attractive woman wearing a bonnet and an elaborate shawl. Super high quality image very nicely posed and with great tonal range and contrast. The shawl is wonderfully detailed, and the image is very clean. There is a gilt octagonal matte which has some minor flecking, and is in a frame protector. There is a red velvet plush pad with a leaf imprint. It is in an early floral pattern case which is separated at the hinge. All in all this is a wonderfully posed quality image which would be the star of any collection.
