This is for afabulous figural Victorian travelling inkwell in the form of aDukes Coronet circa 1880. Ithas its original leather wrap which is hand painted and it has its brass finialon the centre of the lid. Theconcealed button on the frontreleasesthe lid and inside is another catch that opens to theglass inkwell which is removable. Under the lid is a spring loaded leather stopper to seal the bottlewhilst in transit. Its a lovely clean example, as good as you find really, with very little wear usually old figural inkwells like this are fairly worn or at least carrying some inkstains, but this one really is a very good survivor.It measures 55mm (2\") in diameter at the base by 45mm (1.75\") tall.Please check out all the otherinkwells, pens, pencils and vintagewriting equipmentwe are selling on this week.
