FINE 18th CENTURY GERMAN SILVER LADLE w/ WOOD HANDLE

Presented is very fine quality old silver ladle. This ladle has a verylong wooden handle. The ladle has two hallmarks on the underside ofthe bowl. I believe this piece is German, but the hallmarks are notvery clear and I cannot guarantee the country of origin. It iscertainly continental European. The long zigzag mark is the assaytest. This piece was probably made in the mid to late 1700s but couldcertainly be from the early 1800s. The interior of the bowl has a goldwash which is completely intact.

The overall condition is excellent. There may have been a repair wherethe handle attaches to the bowl, but it is very difficult to tell. Ifa repair was done it was well executed. The wood handle is slightlyloose but still very secure. The bowl has a few minor dings and somesurface scratches. Otherwise there are no other dents, no breaks, norepairs, no monograms, no monogram removals and no other problems.

The length is 15 inches.The maximum width of the bowl is 3 3/4 inches.
