Description:

A fine antique 19th Century Victorian miniature portrait painting of a gentleman, wearing a black velvet jacket with wide collar and cravat.The portrait is painted in watercolour on natural material, and mounted and framed within a contemporary gilt metal oval and ebonised frame under domed glass.

Dimensions:

Framed: 13 cm x 10.8 cm or 5 1/8 inches x 4 1/4 inches

Painting: 7.2 cm x 5.6 cm or 2 7/8 inches x 2 1/4 inches

Condition:

The paintingis in good condition, but the purple background may have been later over painted. The gilt oval border shows wear to the gold, but the remainder of the frame is in good condition and suits the painting well. Please see the images provided which complement this description.
