Fort Ancient Bone FLUTE

Jefferson Co KY

2 3/4 inches long

Thisextremely fine little Fort Ancient bone flute was found in the West Louisville community of Fairdale in Jefferson County KY in December 2016. It is made from bird bone (turkey most likely) and it works, but it still has a little dirt in it so is a little tricky. Very solid and extremely well preserved has not needed any stabilization. These flutes are not uncommon on Fort Ancient sites, but unfortunately Fort Ancient sites are getting pretty rare as most have been destroyed by development. Fine bone artifacts such as this are hard to come by. A great 100% authentic style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium; font-weight: normal; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px;\">

About me: I am a member of the Green River chapter of the Central States Archeological Society, the Appalachian Foothills Artifact Collectors Association, and the AACA. I have been collecting artifacts for over 30 years, and I started selling my collection in 2003. This is a hobby for me, not a business and I like to keep my dealings on a friendly basis. I pretty much only collect artifacts from Central KY and a few surrounding states like Tennesee and Indiana. Almost every artifact I offer for sale is a field find which by default means its from private land (people dont farm on public land...), legally obtained and Nagpra compliant (no graves or caves either). Amateur archeology is vitally important and a great deal has been contributed to the discipline by avocational archeologists (Webb, Funkhouser and Lilly were all avocational archeologists...) and private collectors are usually better curators of artifacts than museums or universities. I dont advocate or condone digging for the sole purpose of gathering artifacts, its sort of like ripping pages out of a library book just for the pictures.

My guarantee:buying relics from a web picture is difficult, so I offer a 30 day UNCONDITIONAL RETURN POLICY. IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR PURCHASE FEEL FREE TO RETURN IT. Since I offer free shipping on almost all items, your purchase is risk free. I OFFER A LIFETIME GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY

MY prices:This is a hobby for me, and all the artifacts I list are from my personal collection. This is not a fire sale or a business that has to move inventory. I try to price my artifacts fairly and within the bounds of the artifact market in Central KY. You might be able to buy buckets of authentic G10 6 inch long celts for 15 bucks where you live, but these are pretty rare everywhere else. So if you can get such deals locally, my advice is to forget about internet shopping for artifacts. Heck, you can sell them to me. I typically can discount an item 10-20%, but i dont sell items for a less than what I pay for them. Some items have more wiggle room than others, and some ive already discounted. If you are interested in an item, email me and we can discuss this. I also like multiple purchases and repeat customers, so I will try to work out a deal if you are interested.
