Description A finelarge-sizedEnglishantiqueearly 19th CenturyGeorgiansolid silverand polished faux tortoiseshellmagnifying/reading glass, in good antique condition anddating from around 1800-1820.Excellent quality genuine 200+ year old example, handsome large usable size, with beautiful faux tortoiseshell side panels and handsome reeded solid silver mounts. It has a hinged sliding silver mounted glass magnifying lens which folds neatly inside. There areno added personal engraved monograms or crests.

Measurements Measures approx 3 inches (77mm) x 2.2 inches (53mm) and is 0.45 inches (9mm) deep (when closed).

Date English antique early 19th Century Georgiansolid sterling silver,no silver marks as is quitenormal with these early Georgian silver examples as there was no legal requirement to hallmark small items until 1815.This is100% guaranteed antique solid silver and dating from around 1800-1820.

ConditionGood antique condition,with no splits or repairs to the silver mounts, and no nasty knocks or dents.The faux tortoiseshell side panels are in lovely condition, no chips, cracks or hairlines, just 1 tiny little edge rim nibble, really nothing much at all.The convex glass magnifying lens is in beautiful clean condition, no chips or cracks and there is virtually no surface scratching. The lens is a bit stiff when pulling out of the case, otherwise all ok and a very nice example.
