A fine old Northwest Coast Nootka Nuu-chah-nulth hand carved and painted red cedar model totem dating from the mid 1900\'s. The totem is a work of one of the famous Williams family of carvers, most likely an early work of Ray Williams. He mostly worked for the Ye Old Curiosity shop in Seattle and sold on the streets of Seattle. The totem depicts classic imagery deeply carved expressive imagery featuring a beaver chewing on a stick, frog and a mosquito. Note the amazing hollowed out portions and great pigments! The totem stands an impressive 19 3/4\" tall by 5 1/8\" x 4 1/2\" and is in good original condition with a chip noted to one ear ( please see photos) and normal patina from great age and handling. Stamped on the bottom \"Genuine Indian Made\". A rare hard to find totem pole! The totem makes an impressive display itemand a fine addition to anyone\'s collection.
