A fine old Northwest Coast Kwakiutl Indian hand carved cedar mask depicting Beaver carved by master carver David Maltipi from Alert Bay and is a member of the Kwakiutl tribe and comes from a family of well respected carvers . This mask would date from the 1960\'s when he was working with Henry Hunt at the provincial museum in Victoria . His works are found in many museums and private collections. Hand carved from western red cedar , the mask measures 7 \" x 6\" x 4 1/2 \" and is signed \" David Matilpi Alert Bay BC \" to the inside.
