Originatingfrom the Papuan Gulf region of New Guinea, offered is a classic old bullroarer.This artifact was acquired from the John Friede collection and was originally field collected by Thomas Schultze-Westrum in 1966. The bullroarer measures 17 1/2 inches (47 cm.) in length and dates to the early 20th century. Some remnants of white lime infill remain. The labels and inscriptions were prepared by Thomas Schultze-Westrum in the 1960\'s.
