Up for sale with is a fabulous c1820 Georgian Period Sheffield Plate Samovar or Tea Urn. The Tea Urn is one of the finest examples I have sold in some time and shows great Regency Period designs throughout. The Tea Urn is also the most complete example I have ever seen, having it's original cylinder interior and the original cast iron heater. The Cast Iron tube would be put in the fire and then put inside the inner tube to keep the Tea piping hot for hours. I have only ever seen one other example ever with the Cast Iron Heating part still intact and it was from this same estate. The Urn is a very Rare diminutive example measuring just 13" tall by 7" wide across the handles. The Urn is in excellent condition for the age, with one foot needing to be straightened and the Wooden Tap Handle having been stripped of it's finish. The Tea Urn features matching Castle Armorials and Monogram "R" on the Urn and on the Lid and I believe has probably been replated at some time in the past because the Silver is beautiful and bright. We filled the Tea Urn with Water, there was no leaks and it held approx 5 cups, which would translate into 8-10 tea cups worth of tea or coffee, but this was done without the inserts. The Tap does work nicely. I once saw in a magazine a Sideboard fiiled with Tea Urns, it looked amazing and this would be a rare addition to anyone's collection because of the completeness and small size. I don't think you are likely to find another of this size up for sale with , as all our sales have run for the past 10 years on !

Hence, have an expected amount of wear from normal use. As such, returning an item because we failed to mention the tiniest bit of wear, or barely discernible flaw is not acceptable. Nor do we accept returns based on buyer's remorse, change of taste, or because a buyer did not realize how "small" four inches might be once in hand.
