FRANCIS SCOTT KEY (1779-1843) He was a lawyer, author, and amateur poet, from Georgetown, who wrote the lyrics to the United States' national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner". Original promissory note, George Town (sic), 30 May 1833, from United States Federal Judge James S. Morsell (1775-1870), initialed on the front and signed on the back. Morsell has also signed. There are several folds, tears and small chunks of paper missing, none touching the signature, and expected wear. TRUE - AUTHENTIC - HAND-SIGNED Very reasonable starting offer!!
