Offered is a fabulous large antique shell cameo brooch. It features the figure of a stylish Victorian Lady with in fancy attire with a large plumed hat. It is well carved with nice relief, coloring and expression of the subject. Very fine in detail from the texture of her hat to the delicacy of her hands. Lovely patina. She is set in an intricately worked 10k gold frame, not marked but tested. It has an early locking clasp and a folding swiveling bale that has worn thin in the loop, so I am selling it as a brooch. This is a larger piece, measuring 2 3/16\" by 1 5/8\". It is in very good antique condition (circa 1895-1905) with a few faint internal lines visible when viewed against light.
