The shield\'s borderis chased with matte leafage surrounding the quilted field.

With typical applied symbols including – two pillars with gilt eagles finials, the Tables of The Decalogueengraved with the Ten Commandments flanked by two ramping lions and topped with a Torah crown (all gilded).

The hinged plaque box includesa double sided plaque inscribed in Hebrew \"Sabbath\" on one side and \"Passover\" on the other (later replacement).

The plaque box cover is inscribed in English - \"Presented to the Manchester Hebrew congregation by George Moritz in loving memory of his dear parents May 1890\".

Connected with a hanging chain.

Excellent condition, recently polished.
