MEASUREMENTS: 11.5cm (4.5”) high to top of handles; 16.4cm(6.5”) long; 377 grams (12.1 tr.oz.)

We areoffering a fabulous pair of large Georgian silver sauce or gravy boats.

This pairof gravy boats was made by a fine 18thC silversmith and the high quality istypical of Skeen\'s output. They have a superb profile with their flying scrollhandles, 3 hoof feet and bead punched rims. These sauce boats were originally given as wedding gifts and they areengraved \"S\" over \"IK\" in the form ofa betrothal triangle to the undersidewhere \"S\" is the initial letter of the newly weds\' surname and \"I\" and \"K\" their first name initials - \"I\" being the old English way of spelling a \"J\".

They are in excellent original condition. There is no damage nor are there any repairs - especially along the top edges where 18th century sauce boats are susceptible to damage. There are no dings and the feet are not pushed up in to the body - fabulous condition for this age of sauce boat!

They feel wonderful in the hand and are in superb condition with a fine patina.Theseare a really fantastic pair of Georgian gravy boats.
